Trans Nzoia has created a new policy to address long-standing issues impacting productivity throughout the county in order to achieve sustainable change in the agriculture sector. Before the draft Agroecology Policy is presented to the county assembly for approval and implementation, it will first be discussed with the public. Members of the executive committee were sensitized to the proposed policy by the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock, and Fisheries. The policy is anticipated to be ready for implementation in the following three months. Weather

30 Jun, 2026

Farmers in western Kenya and Rift Valley counties are anticipated to sustain production following near-average to above-average rainfall during the March to May season, according to the authority's quarterly outlook report for July to September, which was published on June 1.

After the near-average to above-average rainfall from March to May, near-average to below-average rainfall in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, and North-western Kenya is expected to sustain agricultural production, KMSA said.

However, the weatherman cautions that a cool, overcast forecast is predicted for places like Nairobi, Nyeri, Murang'a, Kiambu, Kericho, and Bomet, which could postpone crop maturity.
